Linda worked on the frontlines and as an Incident Commander, where she put 30 years of her life on the line. Her podcast and book tell the story of her life, her struggles and what it’s like to live before, during and after as a California fire-fighter. She lives with PTSD and struggles with the stigma of mental health in the department, amongst friends and tells us her story.

Linda Green was the Incident Commander on the devastating Valley Fire, which destroyed almost 2000 structures as it burned across 76,000 acres in the CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit, and the heartbreak of lives lost. But in the months that followed this life-altering traumatic event she refers to as “her fire”, she knew something was very wrong, even though life seemed to be marching on as always...until it wasn’tThe nuances were there immediately but were masterfully disguised by her well-worn habits of performance and responsibility. She didn’t yet realize her free fall had begun into her own personal “hellfire”. Linda was diagnosed with a Post-Traumatic Stress Injury just months before her retirement in 2016.

Season 1 - Episode 38 - #Justiceforjacob - Sara discusses events that led up to her brother's unjust arrest, while suffering cardiac arrest and having a psychotic bipolar mania episode

Sara talks about her brother’s ill treatment, while having a mental illness. He was unjustly arrested while having a psychotic episode and cardiac arrest, prompted by being prescribed five different cocktails drugs for his bipolar disorder and Agoraphobia. He was denied family access, he wasn’t hospitalized or provided with therapy or proper treatment. They merely proceeded to move him into an institution further from the location and to one without mental healthcare.

The state of main, specifically this Kennebec County Jail has a wrongful death suit going right now for similar practices with people that live with mental health.

Her brother is bipolar and was in the booking area and solitary confinement, while disoriented, for more than two weeks. This happened on April 29th and he’s still locked up without therapy, medication and without the essential treatment a person under a psychotic breakdown needs.

Julia Blake Author discusses her book and the bullying she endured as a child. Her character suffers horrendous bullying from all sides and nobody comes to her aid. Bullying in our nation’s schools has been a world-wide epidemic and this book helps open eyes to those that bully, being a cause for dialogue and lessons in school.

Julia herself came through this to become a strong author and her only message is to support others to seek help, talk to someone and for the bullies to stop maltreatment of others.

The most interesting part of this podcast is that it’s done through email only. Living in Dubai, born of Damascas blood, Rima is banished from using various video formats, such as podcasts and video streams. The interview with her revealed the many ailments she faced, even as a model, Due to her illnesses, she couldn’t accept the job as top model, thus she released her pain through her writing.

Rima’s inspirational and gives others hope, despite her illness. This #podcast is an attempt to #breakthesilence to share her story of her #sufferinginsilence
